The Mahesh Jadu Showreel Master Class Enlightened My Views On Acting by Jess Shallcross
I have always found joy from acting but never seemed to find time to pursue it. This year I decided to take the plunge and I am so glad that I discovered Perth Film School in the process. Nicole has created a warm and welcoming environment where I felt comfortable exploring what it means to create work as an actor.
When I heard that Perth Film School was hosting a Showreel Masterclass with Mahesh Jadu, I was eager to join in. Over three intensive weekends I had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss not only the mechanics of acting but also the everyday practicalities of working in the industry.
Being able to form a dialogue with Mahesh, and the rest of the wonderful actors participating in the masterclass, was a fantastic way to delve deeper into concepts that I have touched on in the past and even helped me to understand more about myself as a person.
Exploring and filming scenes with Mahesh’s direction has really enlightened my views on acting. He has a really practical and collaborative approach to exploring scenes and developing characters which pushed me to work harder and more imaginatively.
I would like to thank Mahesh for putting aside time to work with us and share his wonderful wealth of knowledge.
Thanks also to Perth Film School for organizing such fantastic opportunities for Perth actors.
