Why I loved the Perth Film School’s Showcase with Frog Management
On the 30th of June 2015, Perth Film School had the honor of hosting a Showcase with Frog Management.
Established in 1980 by principal, Vivian Poulton, Frog Management is Western Australia’s longest established theatrical casting agency. They represent a top client base of professional actors, presenters and voice over artists in all age groups. Frog is an industry leader in sourcing and guaranteeing the best performer for the job.
Those who participated in the Showcase had also attended a Prep Class taught by Hollywood Actor, Mahesh Jadu.
You may recognize Mahesh Jadu as “Ophir” from the Hollywood Movie iFrankenstein and as “Ahmad” from Netflix’s Marco Polo. Soon, he will be on the big screen again alongside Johnny Depp in the latest installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales releasing in 2017.
Actor Renier Beukes, a Perth Film School alumn, participated in the affair.
Here’s what he had to say:
For me, acting has a lot to do with opportunities, and the Agent Showcase was an amazing opportunity. Over a two weekend period, we prepared to showcase our talent to an amazing agent. We prepared pieces to work on and had the brilliant actor Mahesh Jadu help us achieve the best of our pieces. Once we showcased, not only was it a way to show the talent and potential we have, but it also gave us an opportunity to see how the business side of acting works.
For me, acting has a lot to do with opportunities, and the Agent Showcase is not an opportunity you want to miss.
