Heath Ledger’s Australians in Film Scholarship

Every year, young and talented Australians are given the opportunity to compete for the AiF Heath Ledger Scholarship at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting where Perth Film School’s Director, Nicole Moerland, received her formal training.

The scholarship is available to any emerging Australian actor, offering the opportunity to further their career internationally with professional development opportunities in the United States, and provides over $20,000 in prizes for the winner.

Applications for the 2015 Heath Ledger Scholarship are now closed but watch this video for application tips by past winners.

The Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship

Established in 2008 in memory of Australian actor Heath Ledger, who served as an ambassador for the organization, the scholarship includes a return flight to Los Angeles on Virgin Australia, a 7-day California trip from Visit California, a two year scholarship to attend acting classes at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theatre in Los Angeles$5,000 worth of visa and immigration services from Raynor & Associates U.S. Immigration Lawyers, acomplimentary lifetime membership to StarNow, and $10,000 cash, affording talented young Aussies the opportunity to establish themselves in the heart of the entertainment industry, and reach an international audience.

Two runners up will also receive return flights to Los Angeles on Virgin Australia, and new for 2015, a scholarship to attend Masterclasses at Screenwise Film & TV School for actors in Sydney.
